Periodontal Plastic Surgery
Periodontal plastic surgery is also referred to as gum or gingival grafting. In this case we are treating a soft tissue defect and/or a gingival recession by using harvested tissue to cover areas of exposed tooth surface. It can also be utilized to build up missing tissue.
In some cases, healthy tissue is removed from the roof of the mouth and placed on the site of recession. In other cases we utilize processed and sterilized donor cadaver tissue in order to graft multiple teeth and avoid a second surgical site.
